Meet our member Jouke Schneider
Today we are visiting Jouke from Orange Investment Managers at Tribes in the Ito Tower. On the inspiring mezzanine, Orange Investment Managers has a beautiful office with lots of lights. We take place in our Facebook meeting room and talk about the opening and the mezzanine of Tribes Amsterdam South Axis Ito, when we start talking about the business of Orange Investment Managers. It all started with the World Cup in 2010 and with an orange shirt on a terrace at the Oude Gracht in Utrecht.

Disruptive Bosz
I'm not a football fan in heart and soul, but I have a lot of respect for a strong mentality.
Therefore, I wanted to be present at such a match like last night, and while I was on the plane to Stockholm, I started to think about the past.

Whoever does good meets well
Since I began to study the behaviour of the traditional nomadic tribes, I also got a fascination for the connection between humans and animals. Because you cannot avoid it: many tribes are dependent on animals. The Kazakh and eagles, the Kyrgyz and horses and the Changpa and goats. I grew up with dogs and horses myself and I know how intense such a band can be. I still know how hard my Starletta's Danny (my first own pony, a New Forester) did his best at the counter-canter during our dressage games and how I made sure that he lacked nothing.

With its headquarters in Volendam it was time for Mark to expand to the South Axis. After a chat with the hostesses on the beautiful 7th floor we take place in one of our inspiring offices.

Three Tribes locations for an European party
As you may know, I am very attached to traditions. I love to celebrate special dates, as I will do on the 21th of May. On that day it is the second birthday of Tribes Eindhoven, that is inspired by the Masaï. I think it is important to dwell on the fact that a special event took place a number of years ago. This week there was also such a day, though I doubt if many European citizens are ware of this.

You can find real freedom within yourself
Tonight, at 20:00 hours, I will be on the Dam. Like every year, I’ll take two minutes, just like the king, his wife and every other Dutch to commemorate the war victims. Not just those of the Holocaust, but all the victims who gave their lives for freedom. We’re supposed to celebrate liberation the day after. Both are extremes, horrors followed by festivals. It’s a strange twist if you ask me. Although, after some consideration, I think such an extreme combination of emotions is not that strange at all.

Stick fighting on Kingsday

Two weeks ago, I wrote about the ‘Eurosong or Eurexit’ (http://www.tribes.world/en/blog/eduard-schaepman/eurosong-or-eurexit), in which I stated that the men and women of the European Commission in Brussels should be more passionate. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and now I’m not so sure if that passion would be enough. There is always a bit of competition needed to ensure that everyone expresses their opinion, and to stand up for their ideas and their country. We don’t need them to have a flock mentality, and I even think that the European polder model will work against us eventually.
