New position at Tribes!

ligaya-400pxMy name is Ligaya Spier and I have been working for Tribes for a year and ahalf now. I started as a Sales Chief in Amsterdam on October 1st, 2018. In September 2019 I switched to another position: Chief Broker! Before, I travelled almost everyday from The Hague to Amsterdam to show our locations to potential members and to advice them on the best office solution for them. I really enjoyed working as a Sales Chief, but eventually I wanted to have a more a permanent workplace.

The difference in work from Sales Chief to Chief Broker

As a Sales Chief in Amsterdam I mainly worked in the field, and filled my days with showing our locations , making quotations and negotiating to finally close the deal. Most of the office requests come from my own network or from the brokers who contact our 'Simba's', who schedule the tours for our Sales Chiefs. As Chief Broker I am working on the other side of the field. I am constantly looking for potential new real estate business brokers. That could be a broker in the Netherlands or abroad. Contact is very important to start a good collaboration with the broker and to build a strong relationship. Together with the sales team, I organize events for our partner-brokers, that take place in different cities and countries. We also have an awesome campaign, the Tribebuilder campaign in which we're searching for the best broker and broker agency. The first successful broker event I organized was in Rotterdam. I wanted to do something different from the traditional real estate event with a lot of finger food and drinking beer. So, this time I hired electric city riders (electric scooter / scooter) in order to explore Rotterdam city and show the brokers all the Tribes locations in Rotterdam. You can imagine how much fun it was!

Utrecht Central Station is my regular workplace.

You can find me most of the time at Tribes location Utrecht Centraal, which is inspired by the Hamar Tribe. This is also the home base of the Marketing and the Inside Sales team, which I work closely with. In addition, Utrecht has also a great teamwork of hostess. Almost every morning they make me the best cappuccino and I have always a nice chat before I start working. Tribes Utrecht Central also has the most meeting rooms of all Tribes locations and if I need to do a lot of work by myself, I grab a meeting room to focus om my tasks!

What does my working week look like?

Every day is different, that makes working at Tribes so challenging and fun. One day I am calling a lot to approach potential real estate agents, for a collaboration. The other day I can be found at a broker's office for a cup of coffee or I meet them at one of our beautiful Tribes locations to see what we have to offer for the future members. Or, when we have a new member thanks to a broker, I'll go visit them to bring a nice giftset and I make a short video of it to celebrate it.

The biggest challenge, and something in which I want to develop myself in this new position as Chief Broker, is planning and especially my calendar. The best part of my work is that I am not only working on a computer, but that I am also seeing other Tribes locations and meet new brokers from abroad.

And finally, I am usually present at important real estate events, the more often you go, the nicer it is to see everyone again so people will remember you from Tribes. The position as Chief Broker suits me well because I am really a social person, I easily connect and I am very enthusiastic. In addition, as a woman in a men's real estate world, you get the goodwill!

Something about myself?

In daily life besides work I like to train! Fitness 3 days in a week, and when the weather is fine, I like to jump on my racing bike and cycle through the dunes of Scheveningen (yes I live there 😊). Funny fact about me; As a child I always wanted to become an actress or do something in the entertainment industry. What people really don't expect of me is that I played the harp for 10 years and did many performances. I also sang and danced for another 6 years!
