Inspiring member: Sandhya Santoe
While vlogging, she walks in: power woman Sandhya Santoe knows where her target group is and does everything to reach them. The owner of the coaching company Next Level Mindset, specialized in business coaching & strategic consultancy, has a large online presence, and regularly posts a blog, vlog or offers an online master class, but now has some time to talk to us about her company.
Besides an entrepreneur and behavioral reader, Sandhya is a business-related business coach. She coaches entrepreneurs on personal effectiveness and supports them in solving their management issues. Since 2018, the start of Next Level Mindset, she has been pursuing her personal mission: helping entrepreneurs to the next level, to generate both more revenue and freedom, by means of an intensive 1 on 1 coaching program and an online business school.
Prior to Next Level Mindset, Sandhya gained more than 20 years of experience in the HR world. ‘I have sat down with many directors, managers and entrepreneurs, and noticed that the necessary expertise is available, but that it’s a bit more difficult when it comes to leadership and strategy. My strength lies there, and so I started successfully training and coaching managers and directors’. The step to Next Level Mindset seems logical, but before Sandhya started, she first focused on one of her other passions. A decision that involved trial and error, but which brought her another valuable experience.
‘I started my first own company in 2015: Sweetie Sannie takeaway and catering service. I'm not just an entrepreneur but also a real foody, and it’s of course great fun to be able to combine two of your passions. With Sweetie Sannie, I delivered authentic Hindustani-Surinamese dishes and was in production all day long. I've made all the mistakes that can be made, but I've learned a lot from them and I'm using those insights a lot right now'.
But striving for more is something Sandhya learnt from home, and it started to itch again while she was standing behind the stove for days in a row. I completed four studies, and I actually thought it was a bit of a shame that I didn't do anything with that knowledge anymore. But in addition to being very analytical and strategical, I'm also a entrepreneurial person, and I really wanted to start my own business’.
There's a big difference between being entrepreneurial and being an entrepreneur.
Sandhya then started her self-discovery journey: 'I was always in my head, like so many managers and entrepreneurs that I coached. I knew I had to get out of it, so I went through the whole process myself. Together with a business coach, I found out what my core, my sweet spot, is and how I get the best results from my flow. That was hard, yes, because you have to be really vulnerable, and you have to go through your resistors. Forcing yourself to let go of your perfectionism is one of them'.
After her own journey, she has been given more freedom: she can 'get out' of her head. Every driven manager or entrepreneur recognizes it: you are busy with your work all day and night. How are you going to achieve certain targets, how are you going to organize your team? You are always ‘on’, and at some point, that can work against you. Then you end up in a negative flow, while you want to stay in the positivity so that you have satisfied employees and can achieve your targets and turnover'.
Sandhya now lives her own mission, she has gained more peace of mind, and the business is going well. With Next Level Mindset she brings entrepreneurs the tools to get more turnover and freedom (peace of mind). She knows better than anyone how important a relationship of trust with her customers is, only then will you be able to achieve something together. This discretion is sacred to her. Such a relationship of trust must of course grow, but it helps enormously when someone feels understood. ‘I also call myself a behavioral reader, and I think that's really a gift. When someone sits opposite me, I already know in a few minutes what they're up against, what's behind the mask. When I say this, and my client recognizes this, I'm already a few steps ahead.’ Then the real 1 on 1 coaching program starts: from conversations to interventions, including a kickbox session with a professional trainer, horse coaching and from 2020 a round on the golf course, which together takes about 8 to 12 months, depending on the program you follow. The program has an appropriate name, 'Who is behind the Suit'.
She conducts the personal conversations at all kinds of locations, from the golf course to an inspiring space at Tribes. ‘I adapt the location of the conversation to the type of person opposite me. Tribes is just incredibly suitable because it has a good, professional look’. A few months ago, she decided it was time for the next step for Next Level Mindset: a workplace of her own. After reviewing 11 locations, she decided to try it at Tribes Capelle aan den Ijssel.
After a good and service-oriented experience with Chief Bruce Bongers, who opened the location for her earlier, she knew she had found her place. Her core values are quality, service, hospitality and striving for the best, which she only found at Tribes. Now she realizes that she is also building her own tribe: entrepreneurs who are not only financially driven, but who also do business with their soul. Getting to know other members of this 'Business & Soul' tribe is perfectly possible on 28 November during the Next Level Mindset Event, which will include mindset, strategy and inspiring entrepreneurship!
