Alex has dedicated his career to providing tailored financial advice and helping aspiring homeowners, entrepreneurs, and expats achieve their dreams of owning property. In this interview, we'll delve into Alex's inspiring journey, his motivations, and his exciting plans for the future.

Hi Alex! Can you tell us a little about yourself and Maurits Hypotheken? What inspired you to enter the financial services industry and start your own business?

During my 20-year career as a financial advisor, I saw that tailor made financial advice is the rule rather than the exception, especially in the current residential market. While starters and entrepreneurs do not always take the step to an independent financial advisor, and therefore miss opportunities in the housing market.

I founded Maurits Hypotheken based on the desire to make transparent and independent advice also available to starters, entrepreneurs and expats. I work from many years of experience in the financial services, my good knowledge of the housing market, my excellent knowledge of financial products, and genuine interest in your situation. In this way, I and Maurits Hypotheken ensure that excellent independent financial advice is available to everyone.

What inspires me is helping people with their dream of purchasing and financing their first home or second home at home and abroad. It always remains a wonderful experience and feeling when you can meet specific wishes and goals of people in their phase of life. And I want to do this in my own way with great enthusiasm, passion and service!

Many people find the mortgage process complex or overwhelming - how does Maurits Hypotheken make the process smooth and simple for clients?

The customer experience process is very important in this, providing explanations step by step, making time for your customers, in other words providing service, not just picking up, you are always on from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM via WhatsApp, for example! At Maurits Hypotheken we have streamlined this process well, working with the latest systems such as Ockto and have a fast lane and service level agreements (SLAs) with all lenders!

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

High customer satisfaction, seeing people happy and receiving appreciation for this in the form of a review gives great satisfaction time and time again, year after year!

I am happy to be a member of Tribes Amsterdam Amstel, a multi-tenant business building is an interesting business model for entrepreneurs and the location with good accessibility is important for customers!

Has being a Tribes member impacted your business in any way?

Yes, I hear from customers and suppliers that the appearance is professionally neat and tidy. I personally find it inspiring to work in a national and international environment with various companies from small to large!

Finally, what does the future hold for you and Maurits Hypotheken?

Growth, not only by becoming bigger through high customer satisfaction with many positive reviews, but especially through excellent brand awareness! This is just hard work and rolling up your sleeves in the coming years, I think.
