Member in the Spotlight: Leandro Netz of Solnet
Inspiring Member of Tribes Frankfurt Baseler

In this month’s Member Spotlight, we are thrilled to introduce Leandro Netz, the Head of Business Area Germany at Solnet Group. Solnet Group is a trailblazer in Smart Solar Solutions for commercial and industrial customers across Europe, offering innovative and reliable photovoltaic systems. In this inspiring interview, Leandro shares insights into his role, his passion for renewable energy, and how Solnet Group is driving sustainability and innovation in one of the largest solar markets in Europe.
Hi Leandro! Could you tell us a little about Solnet Group and your role as the Head of Business Area Germany?
The Solnet Group is a leading provider in Smart Solar Solutions for Commercial & Industrial Customers in Europe. We are aiming to provide our customers with a frictionless and easy PV utility buying process and simultaneously provide a system which provides the highest safety standards which will eventually help them to secure their solar investments. As a Head of Business Area Germany I am addressing the German customer needs and supporting the growth plans of the company in one of the biggest Solar markets in Europe. I am also ensuring that we are finding the right talents to support us on that exciting journey.
What inspired you to pursue a career in renewable energy, and what do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
I have been working in the renewable industry for more than 15 years, and I have really enjoyed it. Working with great people and with something extremely meaningful for current and future generations in a very professional environment is something that still motivates me every day. There is still a way to go until our energy generation will be carbon neutral and thus my motivation remains high to collaborate with others to reach that ambitious target.
How does Solnet Group's approach to Smart Solar Solutions benefit businesses and their sustainability efforts?
The Solnet Group early identified the synergy of data and photovoltaic systems. Smart data drive PV-Systems will benefit the owner and operator on subjects like production, safety, maintenance, traceability, and inclusion into other systems (IOT). Electrifying utilities with such a system will help our customers not just to reach their sustainability targets, but also to visualize, analyze, and combine the data with their databases to reach a 360° view of their existing electricity generation and consumption.
What opportunities do you see for innovation and growth in the renewable energy sector?
The energy system is moving more and more towards a decentralized system. To make that system work we need to adapt to the partially volatile renewable energy and combine these with energy storage solutions. The hardware for these systems is already available in the market, but we need to unify the software solutions to serve and stabilize the electricity grid with available “stored” energy. This requires smart regulated systems and the main reason why we developed our Software solution “Solnet Manager”. The software will help to support the reserve energy market and therefore support the stability of the electrical grid.
We’re proud to have Solnet Group as part of our community at Tribes Frankfurt Baseler! What aspects of our shared workspaces do you particularly appreciate or find beneficial?
I truly appreciate the international touch and the friendly and open environment of the Tribes Baseler Platz in Frankfurt. The staff as well as other tenants are very kind and welcoming which creates a really nice atmosphere in the office.
Finally, what does the future hold for Solnet Group?
Government, companies and we all have very ambitious targets to make solar generation the key to a clean energy future. We as Solnet Group will remain a thought leader in the market and will continue to convince corporate and industrial customers to invest in exactly this cleaner energy future. That will keep us busy for a while!
Thanks for the interview.
Thank you, Leandro!
